Of Terrorists and Peace

"An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile -- hoping it will eat him last." --Winston Churchill
"A thing is not necessarily true because a man dies for it." --Oscar Wilde
Many people will tell you that, since the Palestinians held elections, they shall have a new, cleaner, honest form of government. Many will tell you that, like what Hezbollah has done for Lebanon, the poor Palestinian people will receive health benefits and proper schooling.
Unfortunately, many of these people are the same uneducated ignoramouses who thought that giving up Gaza was the best step towards peace since before 1948. And let's not forget. Hezbollah is a US recognized terror organization, responsible for the torture and murder of many innocent lives.
What was wrong with giving up Gaza? Well, to recap, everything that I and a few others had said before the withdrawl was that the area would descend into chaos and become a terrorist stronghold.
Guess what happened.
Islamic Jihad and some other renogade bastards took over the area and the PA totally lost control. Gee, I didn't see that a mile away. On a regular basis, rockets are fired from Gaza. Big surprise. Even Abbas ceded to no longer being able to control these filistines.
One of the things that truly sticks in my craw is that the President of the United States said in his speech after the Pelestinians put Hamas in power that this election was a powerful thing that showed democracy was the best way to go. While I don't disagree with that, I find some of the other statements he made rather insulting.
I remember he had said something to the effect of this being a window into a society. It shows that the Palestinian people want an open honest government with healthcare and schooling for their children.
Just great. My problem with that, the health care they receive is that of if you're healthy, go blow yourself up. The schooling they receive programs them into the culture of hate where Jews are said to drink blood and murder gentiles. Oh, and I almost forgot; the only thing that is true in the statement is that this new governement IS honest. At least they don't lie to you're face when they say they want to eradicate all Jews from the face of the planet. Yay for honest government.
The only positive I can see from all this is that it gives Israel the green light to not have to deal with these people at all. Hamas won in a landslide. That shows that the majority of the Palestinian people are racist anti-Jewish terror mongers. There was crowding at the polls for crimeny's sake!
Israel does not, and will not deal with murderous terror mongers. Nor should they have to. As far as Israel is concerned, these people are of no consequence anymore as they are not a peace partner. There is no partnership.
It's plain to see now that Israel is the only one for peace. Because of that, she must act alone on behalf of her people and the lives that continue to be lost in the Arab occupied areas of Israel.
Furthermore, since Hamas refuses to recognize Israel and respect the right to extist, why the hell does Israel have to give them the time of day?
"Oh, but these poor, underprivaleged, refugees are simply reacting to years under Israeli agression and occupation. You're so insensative, Tigress! How dare you discount that they fight and die for their right to have their land back, you stupid bitch racist."
Bull shit. For that, I refer to the Oscar Wilde quote at the top. Anyone hoping to leave that comment here can please go read a history book as well. It was never their land to begin with. And if you still think that you're screwed up rationale is king, then give your fancy house to a Native American, you yuppie!
They are fighting and dying because of hate. Pure and simple. They have a screwed up religion that puts the full focus on death and tells them to hate and to murder. They have a society that flushes out just that. There is no justification for random acts of violence and terror. I don't care if an Israeli tank ran over your house (or so you claim). To kill someone for that(without having a trial) and they're not even the person responsible is barbaric and downright stupid.
And that's me rambling and puttin' it down like it is. Don't like it? Then lump it.
Next, I'll tackle that stupid danish cartoon hoop-lah. Other writing suggestions welcome within reason.
The "Pragmatist" of Hamas
02.22.06 (5:31 pm) [edit]
On Saturday, the Hamas terror group, whose charter calls for the destruction of the State of Israel and the murder of Jews, took its place as the majority party of the new Palestinian Authority legislature.
Ismail Haniyeh was chosen as the new Palestinian Authority Prime Minister. Much of the media is describing this terrorist leader as "pragmatic" or "moderate."
The Washington Post offered this profile of Haniyeh:
Born in Gaza's Shati refugee camp, Haniyeh graduated from Gaza City's Islamic University in 1987 with a degree in Arabic literature and became a close associate of Hamas founder Sheik Ahmed Yassin.
Haniyeh was expelled by Israel to south Lebanon in 1992, returned to Gaza a year later and became the dean of the Islamic University. In 1998, he took charge of Yassin's office.
A pragmatist, he served as a liaison between Hamas and Palestinian Authority, established in 1994 and dominated by the rival Fatah movement.
The New York Times describes him as "considered less radical than others" and he "held a number of top administrative positions at the Islamic University in Gaza City."
The BBC says: "But he is considered a moderate in the movement's ranks whose position on the list was intended to appeal to mainstream Palestinian voters.... "
The Associated Press and Reuters similarly describe him as a "pragmatist" with an administrative background.
Who is Ismail Haniyeh?
Haniyeh, has been one of most senior Hamas leaders in Gaza for over ten years. He served as bureau chief for Hamas head Sheikh Ahmad Yassin, but was given a higher leadership position after Yassin's death. He was arrested several times and deported to Lebanon for terrorist activities.
In 2003, Hamas took credit for a horrific bus bombing in which 23 Israelis were killed. In response, Haniyeh was placed on Israel's most wanted list. He narrowly escaped an Israeli attack as he was meeting with Yassin and other terror leaders.
According to the Jewish Virtual Library:
Haniyeh has always favored violence over diplomacy, and said the Hamas' wins in the municipal elections in 2005 were proof that the majority of Palestinians support terrorism against Israel.
The Hamas Charter
There is no indication that Haniyeh is interested in changing the charter of the organization he had helped to lead for many years.
As Reuters reported:
They (the United States and others in the international community) are threatening to cut off aid to any government run by Hamas unless the group renounces violence and abandons its charter commitment to Israel's destruction. "These demands are unjust to the Palestinian people," Haniyeh said.
Terrorism
There is also no indication that Haniyeh thinks Hamas should give up terrorism. On the contrary, after the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza he was asked if Hamas would give up armed struggle. Haniyeh had this to say:
"These weapons liberated the land and by these weapons, we will continue the liberation process."
Honoring Agreements
Both the Oslo Accords and the Middle East Road Map require the Palestinians to recognize Israel and renounce terror. There are those who say that Haniyeh will accept these agreements since they have been signed by the Palestinian Authority. However, all he has said is that:
"Agreements that harm our people we will leave out. Agreements that serve our people's interest we will keep."
Today, there is no evidence Haniyeh has indicated he is in favor of changing the Hamas charter, rejecting violence, or recognizing Israel. Without these basic steps, it is difficult to see how anyone can accurately define him as "pragmatic."
If your local media describe Haniyeh as "pragmatic" or "moderate" ask them on what basis they are using those terms.

New Blog
02.15.06 (6:10 pm) [edit]
No, I'm not moving ... completely.
I just decided that tblog is kinda not my scene anymore. I'm still going to post here, just not as often. Tblog is the place where I'll still put most of my writing. This is going to still be my home base.
From now on, however, I'm going to mostly be seen at :
I feel it is necissary to take my life in a new direction. Therefore, I decided to partially move to Deviant Art. Plus, I really want to get my art work out there, since I already have my literary stuff here.
Please do check out my deviant art. Let me know what you think.
I also will take requests for stuff people want to see me create. Commisioned art perhaps?
Peace.
